Mussoorie is a true word or true definition of beauty. In India, there are many places where you can go with friends, family, and soulmates or travel alone, but it has something special from all of that places. First, it has a stunning view from Mall Road and second it has everything that your soul needs to revive itself.
In the morning, you will be amazed by the sunrise and at night you’re literally over the moon. That late-night twining lights of the whole Dehradun can make you feel like you’re in the seventh heaven.
Personally, I will recommend one of my favorite places for you to travel is Mussoorie and its connected places like Kempty Fall, Happy Valley and climb the mountains like George Everest for a breathtaking adventure.
Short History Of Mussoorie

It’s pretty obvious why the Mussoorie has been designated by the name of the queen of hills station. The scenic beauty and pristine view from Mall Road will definitely give you the feeling of being On top of the world.
The scenic beauty, as a resort was first established in 1825 by a British military officer named Colonel Frederick Young easily known as captain Young with Mr. Shore, the resident superintendent of revenues at Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
Everyone knows Mussoorie is long been known as the queen of hills. This name is often attributed to a derivation of Mansur, a shrub that only grows in the foothills of the Himalayas region, and by locals, it’s also referred to as Mansoori.

This place is famous among couples for their honeymoon destination in India by the virtue of its picturesque view of hills and its scenic view of the Himalayan range.
Mussoorie is a hill station which is situated away about 38km from Dehradun and it is famous for its green hills and varied flora and fauna. It is a fascinating hill station that offers an indescribable and wonderful view. There is a road named Mall Road on which you can find hotels and resorts to stay, not only this even you can easily find your choice of food and many eye-catching things.
There is Mall Road Library, one of the oldest libraries in India is situated at this place and is established in 1843. The Library is the storehouse of an excellent collection of books. You can take public transportation like a bus or hire a personal taxi from Dehradun to Mall Road.
The transportation is easily accessible and it will not cost much if you’re traveling with a few people.
Altitude Of Mussoorie
Mussoorie hills station popularly known as the queen of hills is located at an altitude of 7464 ft. and resides in the district of Dehradun. Hence in the summer, you can experience pleasant weather and soothing nights there and in winter, you will actually experience the snowfall there, around Surkanda Devi and Dhanolti, another place situated nearby Mall Road.
Best Time To Visit Mussoorie
Although, the valley of green hills looks spectacular no matter what time of the year you visit. The cold wind and weather will always make you feel like a blessing in disguise. But the most pleasant weather to visit Mussoorie is from April to June. And, if you find yourself comfortable in extreme cold condition & want to visit for the snowfall, then December to February will be the best time to go.
The temperature in the winter can go down from 0C to -4C from December to January and in the summer months, the highest temperature witnesses a maximum high of 25-30C in May and June.
How To Reach Mussoorie By Road, Train & Flight?
You can visit by 3 Ways ( Air, Train, and Cab & Transport).
1. AIR
You can take a flight from your respective cities to Dehradun. The nearest airport is Jolly Grants airport which is situated in Dehradun and it’s approximately 60km away from Mussoorie. The journey from Jolly Grants airport to Mussoorie will take approximately 2 or more than 2 hours. You can book a cab online from there.
2. TRAIN
The nearest railway station is also situated in Dehradun, located around 35km away from Mussoorie. There are also availability of buses and cabs. You can travel by local transport like bus or hire a cab or even in share as well. Many trains are running between Delhi and Dehradun like Nanda Devi AC express or Shatabdi. Check the details of the trains and Choose accordingly to your convenience.
3. CAB & PERSONAL TRANSPORT
Now, if you want to travel from Delhi to Mussoorie by road, you can book a personal cab from Delhi or you can take local Uttarakhand parivahan buses for travelling to Dehradun.
If you’re travelling by your own vehicle then the best route to drive from Delhi to Mussoorie is Delhi -> Mohan Nagar -> Modi Nagar -> Khatauli -> Muzzafarnagar -> Roorkee -> Dehradun -> Mussoorie.
The journey will take approximately 7-8 hours of driving time to reach at the main station.
How We Reached Mussoorie?

At the time of leaving, because we were late so we took a private bus from Anand Vihar bus terminal situated in Delhi and travelled almost whole night. In the morning 7’O clock, we were there at Dehradun and booked a private cab from Dehradun to Mussoorie.
The bus cost us around 350-500 Rs per person and the private taxi cost us around 1500 Rs for a swift.

The Mall Road & The oldest Library.

Kempty Fall & Santura Mata Temple, Company Garden, Buddha Hills, and Buddhist Temple.
DAY 3
Lal Tibba, George Everest.
