Double XL is a 2022 Indian Hindi language film that is based on comedy and drama genre.

The film is directed by Satram Ramani and produced by Mudassar Aziz and Ashwin Varde. This movie is made under the banner of T-Series and Wakao films. The movie script is written by Mudassar Aziz and Sasha Singh (screenplay).

The Double XL film starring Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Zaheer Iqbal, and south actor Mahat Raghavendra (debut in Hindi film). This movie is about two plus-size women Rajashree Trivedi from the heart of Uttar Pradesh, Meerut and the other one is Saira Khanna who is from urban New Delhi who navigates the odds of society’s beauty standards.

In this film, you will see two well-known actresses from Bollywood and for the first time, they both appeared on the screen together for this movie.

Double XL movie cast Sonakshi Sinha as Saira Khanna who is playing the role of a designer in the film and she acted decent in this film and also suited the role of an urban New Delhi girl.

Huma Qureshi as Rajshri Trivedi, second lead of the movie who is playing a dedicated girl who is trying to be a sports expert. She looks cute and acted well throughout the movie and they both are very well suited for the lead as per the script demands.

Other than them there are many more talented actors in this movie and they also acted well i.e., Zaheer Iqbal as Zorawar, Mahat Raghavendra as Shrikant Shreevardhan, Shobha Khote as Rajashri’s grandmother, Alka Kaushal as Rajashri’s mother, Kanwaljeet Singh as Rajashri father, Niki Aneja Walia as Zorawar’s mother, Danish Pandor as Viren, Sachin Shroff as Saurabh Bhaiya, Jagat Rawat as Mausaji, Swati Tarar as Roli Mausi, Dolly Singh as Meera, Digvijay Singh as Ratan, Isha Dhillon as Nidhi.

There are two cricketers who had guest appearances in the movie i.e., Shikhar Dhawan, and Kapil Dev, and also a versatile actor of Bollywood Jimmy Sheirgill in Guest appearances.

The movie Double XL is based on two girls named Saira Khanna (Sonakshi Sinha) and Rajshri Trivedi (Huma Qureshi). They Both are very ambitious and dedicated towards their work.

Saira Khanna is an aspiring designer and Rajshri Trivedi’s aim is to become a cricket expert but there is one thing in common between their lives. They’re not so fit body and overweight pull them back in the race of their dream and they both suffer many things for their heavy weight and their double XL size. Even Rajshri’s family wants her to marry and settle down with someone and forget all her dreams of becoming a cricket expert.

One day they both met accidentally in a washroom and the movie goes on. They fought for their dreams and passion and face many problems.

Double XL Box Office Collection

Satram Ramani directed movie Double XL was released on 4 November 2022 theatrically with very limited screens.

The movie has made with a budget of only Rs 25 crores and at the end of 2 weeks theatrical run, the movie has only managed to earn an estimated Rs 1.12 crores in two weeks and get negative reviews from the critics and become one of the most disastrous films and was a box office bomb.

The music of the movie is given by Sohail Sen and Kanishk Seth and the total run time of the movie is 128 minutes.

The OTT rights of this film is yet to be announced.

Is Double XL Movie Worth-Watching?

If you’re still confused with this movie then please don’t watch it, else if you have no job to do and have an extra penny in your pocket then you can watch.

Basically, the movie is based on how two plus-size women fought all the odds and navigate their life. Both celebrate female friendship and embrace body positivity, but let me honestly tell you that there is nothing like we saw in the trailer. Title of the movie should not be Double XL but it should be some ambitious title.

If you’re really free from life and have time then go watch this at your nearest theatres and yes it is a complete family movie.
