Shastry Virudh Shastry is a 2023 Indian Hindi language family drama film, which is directed by Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy and the movie is also written by them along with Anu Singh Chaudhary.

This movie is a Hindi adaptation of the 2017’s popular Bengali movie “Posto” which is also directed by Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy. Shastry Virudh Shastry movie is produced by Ajit Andhare, windows production house and Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

The movie Shastry Virudh Shastry starring Kabir Pahwa, Paresh Rawal, Neena Kulkarni, Shiv Pandit, Mimi Chakraborty, Tipu Talsania, Manoj Joshi and Amruta Subhash. The film makers absolutely casts the fine and on point actors for the films and everyone outperform their performances in the movie. In the film industry there is very less child artist who amaze or surprised me because they mostly overacted in the whole movie and doing mischievous act to just look cute and adorable and I personally just hate it.

In this movie you’ll see Kabir Pahwa as Yaman Shastry a.k.a “Momoji”. He is a child artist and also in the lead role of this movie and his raw performance and cuteness throughout the movie is like a great treat for our eyes, totally loved his character and performance.

Paresh Rawal as Guruji, performing the role of Yaman’s grandfather and Neena Kulkarni is in the role of Yaman’s grandmother. They both are phenomenally acted so well that you really forgets that they are just acting and they are not the real grandparents of the Yaman.

Shiv pandit as Malhar Shastri as in the role of father of Yaman and Mimi Chakraborty as Yaman’s mother. They both were also acted maturely and gave their best to their respective roles.

There are many more experienced and dedicated actors were in the movie i.e., Tipu Talsania, Manoj Joshi, Amruta Subhash and many more.

The films starts with yaman who lives with their grandparents in Panchgani and there parents were living in Mumbai because of their work and Yaman’s father Malhar sahstri was struggling to get a job according to their needs and accomplishment and he is totally depending on his wife’s income.

They visits Panchgani only on weekends to meet their child. All things were going good and happily with the family but suddenly everything changes when Yaman’s father Malhar gets a job opportunity and a chance to settle in the US.

Yaman’s grandparents loves him a lot and don’t have trust on Yaman’s parents, they think his parents can’t handle him and can’t able to give him proper parenting, So Guruji adamantly refuses to let the child leaves the ancestors house and that’s lead to a legal battle between a son and his father.

Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy directed and written movie Shastry Virudh Shastry is released on 3 November 2023 theatrically with very limited screens.

The budget of approx Rs 4-8 crores is used for making this film including printing, advertisements, promotions, and other expenses. On its first day of release the movies manages to earn only Rs 0.12 crores and after the 7 day of theatrical run the movie total earning is approx Rs 0.65 crores.

The songs like Natkhattu and Jugnu in this movie were simply amazing and just treat for our ears and all the credit goes to lyricist Manoj Yadav and Swanand Kirkire, who done such an amazing job with his pen.

The movie gets positive review by the critics. The movie run time is 140 minutes. The OTT rights of this film is yet to announced.
