The White Tiger Movie Review
The White Tiger is a 2021 drama film which is directed and written by Ramin Bahrani. The film is an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s 2008 novel of the same name in the year 2008.
The film is produced by Ramin Bharani and Mukul Deora, executive produced by Chopra Jonas, Ava DuVernay and Prem Akkaraju. The film stars Adarsh Gourav, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Rajkumar Rao.
The film is based on a character named Balram, who comes from a poor Indian village and uses his mind, his wit and cunning to escape from poverty.
The White Tiger Movie Cast
The cast of the white tiger was very prominent because it’s the cast of the film that made him successful through their acting and their skill-full performances.
The white tiger cast was totally suitable for these criteria. Makers of the film selected the actors according to their roles, and all the actors suited their roles perfectly.
The film stars Adarsh Gourav as Balram Halwai (Ashok Sharma), Rajkummar Rao as Ashok Shah (Balram’s master), and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Pinky Shah (Ashok’s wife). They are the main lead of the film that did exceptionally well in this movie. Where Adarsh Gourav’s performance was really appreciable in the movie on the other hand Rajkumar Rao and Priyanka Chopra Jonas delivered their best to the film.
Apart from these, another casting was also effective in the movie i.e., Mahesh Manjrekar as The Stork (Ashok’s father), Vijay Maurya as Mukesh (The Mongoose) Shah (Ashok’s older brother), Kamlesh Gill as Granny Kusum (Balram’s grandmother), Swaroop Sampat as the Great Socialist, Tawhid Rike Zaman as Balram’s friend, Vedant Sinha as Dharam (Balram’s nephew), Nalneesh Neel as Vitiligo Man.
The White Tiger Movie Story
The white tiger is a story of a boy who lived in a small Indian village and got offered a scholarship to study in a school in Delhi because of his advanced academics. He is told that he is a white tiger who was born once in a century. But after his father’s death, Balram is forced by his grandmother to work in the village’s tea stall.
As a young, Balram aspires to become a chauffeur for the storks’ son Ashok, who completed his studies in the United States and return to India with his wife Pinky by hook and crook.
Balram is appointed as Ashok Shah’s driver and he is loyal toward his work and his masters, but on the occasion of Pinky’s birthday, he and Ashok got drunk and forced Balram to let Pinky drive the car. As result, she accidentally hit and killed a child and in the next few days, Mukesh and his father coerce Balram into signing a confession of that road accident that’s endorsed by his grandmother.
The story has many twists & turns and it is very well written by his writers and screenplay was also excellent.
The White Tiger Movie Collection
The film White Tiger premiered in Las Vegas on 6 January 2021 and was screened at limited movie theatres in the United States on 13 January 2021 and it was released globally through the OTT giant Netflix on 22 January 2021.
The budget of this film is still not revealed but it would approximately cost makers in the range of 80 to 100 crores to make this film.
The film hit number one on Netflix in top 10 in 64 countries and is projected to be watched by 27 million households in its first four weeks. The film did not release at the box office in India, so there are no collections to measure hit or flop.
